EV Range Delivers EV Charging, Energy Management and Security to US Ports

Wiggins eBull from XL Lifts Charging at the Port of Long Beach

EV Range has electrified operators at the Ports of San Diego and Long Beach with high-powered DC fast chargers (up to 350kW) through its in-house software, deployment and support services serving a new era of fleet vehicles such as Ford Lightnings and Wiggins eBull electric forklifts (up to 70,000lb) from XL Lifts.

“Electrification is a challenge” said Carl Pancutt, CEO of EV Range. “EV Range has provided EV infrastructure software, deployment and support services to over four hundred high power (>150kW) deployments over the past 5 years. Our in-house charging station management software delivers full monitoring, reliability, security and support for charging infrastructure.”

The complexity of electrification requires ports and other industrial operators to adapt, with aging infrastructure and limited electrical capacities, innovative strategies and technologies are often required to successfully transition to net-zero goals. Navigating existing utility and customer side electrical infrastructure is challenging, however EV Range provides methods to aid and mitigate these through software, technologies and design.

EV Range began and continues to operate a public network of high-powered DC fast chargers across the west coast. “We are a customer of our own products and services” Pancutt continues, “we developed our platform and services for all to own and operate facilities to support electrified transportation for commercial and industrial applications. We began life as our own test subject and development partner deploying and operating public infrastructure along busy interstates at retail and hospitality locations. From this we experienced and understood the needs of an operator first hand. Monitoring assets, user experience, support, uptime and reporting are vital for the success of any deployment. Combined with our in-house EPC Cleantek we are able to provide rapid turnkey or a la carte electrification services to support the industry and we are very proud of these deployments at US Ports.”
