GM EVs Now Compatible with Tesla Supercharger Network

In a groundbreaking move, General Motors (GM) has made its electric vehicles (EVs) compatible with Tesla's vast Supercharger network. This exciting update gives GM EV owners access to over 17,800 Tesla Superchargers across North America, vastly expanding the charging options for drivers of popular models like the Chevrolet Bolt and GMC Hummer EV.

However, this convenience comes with a small caveat: GM EV owners will need to purchase a NACS (North American Charging Standard) adapter for $225. This adapter, available through GM’s vehicle apps, bridges the gap between GM’s current charging setup and Tesla’s proprietary charging network.

This strategic partnership is just the beginning. By 2025, GM plans to equip new electric vehicles with native Tesla charging ports, eliminating the need for an adapter altogether. Until then, the adapter ensures GM drivers can enjoy seamless access to Tesla’s reliable Supercharger infrastructure.

GM’s move is part of a larger trend toward unifying charging standards across the EV industry. With Ford, BMW, and other automakers following suit, Tesla’s NACS is quickly becoming the new standard for EV charging in North America.

For GM drivers, this means one thing: more convenient, fast, and widespread charging—just another step toward making electric vehicle ownership easier and more accessible for all.

At EV Range, we’re excited to see this level of innovation and collaboration, ensuring that EV drivers have the best charging experience no matter where the road takes them.
